About Us
The Vitruvian Man logo was picked to represent that our philosophy of treatment is based on our knowledge of how important the connection of dental health is to the entire patient and not limited to the teeth and gums. Our emphasis on relationships & building trust to help our patients be comfortable before any dental procedure is performed harkens back to the days when doctors really knew you – outside in, not inside out.
Our team are people you have seen for years and know they are always friendly, helpful and have your best interest and comfort at heart, and never short change the time an individual patient requires from us. With that strong relationship, we have achieved impactful, positive results with our patients over many years of practice. Clinically, our emphasis on great dental hygiene to support and enhance a patient‘s immune system to improve overall health (fewer issues with heart, diabetes, possible Alzheimer’s or Dementia, to name a few), non-surgical TMJ therapy, oral appliance therapy, sleep apnea therapy, sedation dentistry, VelScope oral cancer screening, laser cold sore treatments, creating life-changing confidence-boosting smiles that improve health, comfort and natural beauty care and surgical implant placement, are just a few significant examples that make us unique and is foundational to who we are. Give us a call to learn more or request an appointment.

Meet the doctors
Dr. Carolyn Schweitzer
Dr. Schweitzer graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelors in Biology, then attended the State University of New York Dental School at Buffalo, where she also completed a hospital residency. She then moved to Massachusetts to be near her brother, who promptly moved to LA.
Dr. Schweitzer has been practicing general dentistry since 1984. She loves being a dentist and feels that dentistry is the perfect blend of art, science, and helping people. She believes that as long as you stay curious and keep learning, your career will always be exciting. As a result, she regularly attends continuing education to update her knowledge, upgrade her skills, and learn new aspects of dentistry.
In 2018 Doctor Carolyn graduated from The VIVOS Institute in Denver Colorado where she learned to identify the warning signs of sleep apnea and similar sleep related disorders, which are often first identified during a dental exam. She also learned how facial growth and development affect a person’s health and function. Dr. Schweitzer takes an interest in her patient’s total health.
Dr. Schweitzer has also recently joined the faculty of Tufts Dental School as a part time clinical instructor. Dr. Carolyn loves to sing, and often sings or hums while she works, which her patients find very relaxing. She is married with one son and two cats and the whole family likes to go rock climbing together (except the cats).
